The Inconsistent History of Clara Wright

YA Novel – Folk/Light Fantasy – First Chapter Available

What I’m about to tell you will sound made up, but I promise you, Clara didn’t make up any of it.

The problem is that she can hear her narrator. Not metaphorically. Not as a voice in her head. I tag behind her, sing the occasional song, argue with her bad decisions.

We’re friends, mostly. Then we had an argument.

To get away from me, Clara hops aboard a subway headed anywhere but home— and for the first time, she slips out of my story.

Apparently, a few stops past Penn Station is rural Poland nearly a century in the past, because that’s where I finally find her..

And that’s also when I start remembering things I shouldn’t. Things from before I was a voice in her story.

Back when I was a boy.

…Now I’m here, pitching you this story.

Once again, I’d like to kindly remind you that Clara Wright is definitely not making any of this up.

Doctor, Doctor!

Short Story – Gothic Romance – Completed

Orphaned and raised in a candlelit nunnery, Dr. Elizabeth Laika never expected her talent for healing the sick to draw royal attention — let alone from the Royal Family of England. On her first day at the palace, she is introduced to the Prince: a man shrouded in mystery, afflicted by an illness no one dares name.

But when unexplainable, near-fatal accidents begin to unravel the strict order that plagues the palace, Laika suspects there might be foul play. Bound by secrecy and an unlikely friendship, she and the Prince must navigate buried truths and suspicious palace residents, while being watched closely by a court that expects her to cure him.

As an adamant skeptic, Laika refuses to believe the Prince’s curse is anything supernatural. But as the two explore the palace, trouble may force her to confront the impossible, including a curse that may be far more real, and far more dangerous, than she ever imagined.

A Poet’s Guide to the Heroes Journey

Screenplay – Young Fantasy – Pilot

Owen and his sister have spent every summer at St. Andromeda Prep, a summer school that trains the next generation of heroes. Unlike his classmates, however, Owen has never wanted a hero’s journey of his own. He’d rather write poems, play music, and leave the world-saving to someone else.

But when his sister vanishes without a trace, Owen sets out to bring her home, joined by two unlikely students whose own destinies are far from ordinary. As the journey grows more dangerous, Owen must overcome a mystery that never seems to end, and monsters straight out of the stories he grew up writing.

After all, is heroism something you’re born for— or something you choose, one impossible feat at a time?

Dear, Nikki

Screenplay – Fiction Romance – Pilot

Vivienne Ardois is obsessed with Nikki: the early 2000s rockstar who died tragically young. After winning his vintage jacket at an auction, she discovers an unopened letter in the pocket, and she begins to wonder… what if history had gone differently?

After a fight with her parents, Vivi races to her band’s first real gig through the sweltering Paris summer, her guitar in tow. Losing control of her bike, she swerves, crashing off a bridge into the Seine. As her breath slips away, Vivi closes her eyes… and wakes up again— but this time, in the 90s.

Now, she finds herself enrolled in a strict private arts school full of stuffy uniforms, patronizing adults and a towering, cathedral-like campus.

The most popular students? Two very familiar faces. Her parents. Teenagers. Academic enemies.

To make things even weirder? Her dad— who’s supposed to be deaf— isn’t yet, and is in a secret rock band with her Nikki, who is alive, angry, and not interested in being saved.

Now Vivi must blend in, help her parents fall in love, and rewrite a rockstar’s ending… without changing her own.

Let the Sleeping Dogs Lie

Short Story – Whodunit – Completed

When one of her first debutante balls takes a deadly turn, and the head of her host family is suddenly murdered, Ms. Katherine “Kit” Voss finds herself entangled in the mystery unraveling after the heir’s death, finding a sealed envelope outside the guest room’s door.

Lured by curiosity (and the promise of extravagantly rich food), Kit accepts a dinner invitation with a chirping detective and seven eccentric suspects, each with secrets, and an intriguing story of their own. But when a sudden winter storm locks everyone inside the manor, the evening spirals into a deadly hunt.

As the unmasked killer picks the guests off, one by one, Kit finds herself the prime suspect in a chilling game of cat and mouse.

To escape the night, she’ll have to clear her name, earn the trust of seven strangers, and unmask a killer hiding in plain sight… before she becomes their next victim.

Bossanova

Play – Comedy/Murder Mystery – Completed

After a sunny vacation in Rio de Janeiro takes a deadly turn, a famous detective accidentally kills an old friend, and then gets hired to solve the very murder he committed.

With three oddly suspicious suspects and no real killer among them, the detective finds the perfect opportunity to shift the blame, and frame one of them. As he bounces between increasingly chaotic interrogations, piecing together fake motives and shaky alibis, he starts hearing the ghost of the man he killed…

It’s a murder mystery where the murderer is also the detective… and the victim won’t shut up!
