My name is Nathalie Ayotte, I am a 22 year old writer based in Orange County, CA. I grew up in Portland, OR, where I first learned how writing can engage the sense— how words can shape what you see, feel and experience. Fairytales have always been special to me, but no story has stayed with me like Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, whose whimsical, dreamlike world often echoes through my writing.

In my work i’m often drawn to the often misrepresented quietness and normalcy of romance, especially when contrasting with the engaging intrigue of classic mystery. In my writing, I love escaping into rich, fantastical worlds inspired by beloved real-life eras such as the strict society of Victorian England or the vibrant, lively culture of the Roaring Twenties.

I particularly enjoy writing fiction, especially novels, but I often veer off my usual path to experiment with storytelling — specifically through interactive fiction or by using gaming to create short machinimas. I also am a Dungeon Master for D&D and have a Game Development minor at Chapman University.

In the future, I know I’ll continue creating the characters and worlds I love — through vessels like books, films, songs, or even video games!
